Schnorr Signatures

Schnorr signatures are a digital signature scheme introduced to Bitcoin through the Taproot upgrade in November 2021.

Like ECDSA, Schnorr signatures use the secp256k1 elliptic curve, but they offer improved efficiency (smaller signatures), enable signature aggregation (multiple signatures can be combined into one), and enhance privacy for multisig transactions. Schnorr signatures are used in Taproot (P2TR) address types.
